This is my favorite Calvin and Hobbes strip. I actually tried to save a snowball in our freezer when I was a kid, but it turned into a giant ice ball by the time summer came around, so it was unsafe to throw at anyone.
I know this is completely unrelated to Calvin and Hobbes, but my brother and I aren’t the only people in the world who gave our toys REAL personalities, right?

This strip was written when irony was still alive.

Calvin doing his best Wile E. Coyote impression in Panel 2. Similar outcome too.

Later, when the two of you are married, you’ll look back at this and laugh.

Cosby did this, about 85 years ago… remember “Junior Barnes”? Still funny, and Calvin recreates it well…

Calvin certainly deserves this and he should enjoy the cold in July.

I did save a snow ball in the freezer (back in the late 60’s) and did I get in trouble when I hit a girl with it in July. That ice ball really hurt.

Hit her at the back, man. Very close. No breeze interfering

I wish they still made Calvin and Hobbes strips. It is the best comic, ever.

I am heartened by the fact that Calvin can recognize irony when he sees it. It bodes well for him as an adult.

I wouldn’t mind having a snowball thrown at me right now. It is so hot here. I’m practically dripping with sweat!
I hate summer with a passion!

There’s the rub with a single shot weapon, you only have one chance.

This is why you should never say “you throw like a girl.”
SirBaconBear almost 7 years ago
This is why you freeze 250 snowballs instead of 1 snowball, Calvin.

Would a snowball saved in the fridge be softer and safer?
