Not a complaint about the comic, but I was paralyzed a couple of years ago and while I was in the rehab hospital, they brought in a couple of cats, one that was just because they’re nice and comforting to pet and hold, but the other was actually paralyzed in its hind legs and used a wheeled cart type thing to hold up it’s hind end when it ran around. A good example of overcoming paralysis for those of us learning to cope. :) There are service cats… just not in all the same ways as dogs. :)
When my daughter had a bad reaction to a breathing treatment, she ended up in PICU. She was totally disoriented and could not seem to calm down which just made her breathing worse. She didn’t start breathing normally until I convinced them to bring in a therapy cat. They said the cat was too tired and were afraid that she might hurt it since she didn’t know what she was doing. When they finally brought in the cat, she held it to her chest, her breathing eased, she calmed down and she and the cat both fell asleep. The doctor and nurses were amazed. I wasn’t. It’s just the power of cats.

I have seen the reverse comic. Cats being called smarter because they so rarely work for their living.
