Meanwhile, Mueller’s history as a political hack (kindest term) is never discussed at all. How bad have things gotten in this country that we have to rely on someone like Mueller to investigate Trump? I’m not confident, to say the least, that he’ll get the job done. But who knows, maybe he’ll rise above his own past and provide a valuable service to the country.
I found info about Mueller on washingtonsblog, specifically http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2017/06/67890.html and http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2017/06/special-prosecutor-mueller-political-hack.html, via nakedcapitalism. (I’d pass on the comments, though).
I doubt there are any who serve at high levels in the government who are not portrayed as evil at one time or another. The illegal actions taken after 9/11 were driven fear after the attack and the highest levels of government were willing to look the other way until they figured out what works. It is not like Mueller’s was the driving force. It is fairly easy to paint anybody as being less than a saint. In Trump’s case you can fine numerous articles throughout his life where he behaved badly. He clearly does not seem to be able to be rational. The case against him is a magnitude of order worse. I am really afraid we have an emotionally unstable person running our country and it will eventually lead to a disaster of some kind. Remember he can launch our nuclear missile fleet and order significant resources into war. Given a big enough problem he could bring back the draft and send your kids and grandkids to give their lives in some god forsaken place.
Many who saw all the presidents men revisited on tv last night can probably see a lot of parallels to today. The difference was that Nixon never went up to a microphone and said I’m going to fire that so and so because he is after me due to bad stuff I’m doing. That would be trump.
The president missed a self-imposed 90-day deadline for developing a plan to “aggressively combat and stop cyberattacks,” stayed silent after Moscow-linked hackers went after the French election and publicly renewed his own skepticism about the Kremlin’s role in the digital theft of Democratic Party emails during the presidential race. Privately, the president questioned a senior NSA official about the truthfulness of the conclusion from 17 intelligence agencies that Russia had interfered with the election, according to The Wall Street Journal. On Capitol Hill, Trump and his team have declined to support a Republican-backed effort to hit Russia with greater penalties for its digital belligerence.
Where does it lead?? IMPEACHMENT!! And it CANNOT happen soon enough!! Although, then we will have to put up with an Insane, Bigoted, Hateful, Evangelical, Christaliban NUTCASE that wants to establish Theocratic “Christian Sharia Law” in America. Heck of a choice the G.O.P. foisted on the rest of us this time around!
Sociopaths like Pence just act sane. You have to listen closely to what they are saying and watch what they are doing to understand the depth of their insanity. Like many Fundamentalist Christians he is keen to strip women of human rights and establish a “Nation of Gilead” like the one visualized by Margaret Atwood in her book “The Handmaids Tale” as well as the purity of a Christian only white nation. “I am a Christian, a conservative and a Republican, in that order.” Mike Pence . Lots to GOOGLE on this.
It will end up where it did on Friday, August 9, 1974, and I tend to agree with Masterskrain. To Rshaffe1’s point about Pence, it really depends on your definition of “insanity” doesn’t it? To me, personally, Little Mikey Pence is as “mad as a hatter” and even more dangerous than Donnie! Malevolence is always more dangerous than incompetence!
I’ll take a chance on Pence and his peculiarities any time over the avaricious Tramp whose only goal is to be richer in 2020 than he was in 2016. That’s the only reason he wanted to win the W.H. He could not care less about running the country as long as his coffers are filling up and he can fly to his Swamp-A-Lago and play golf every week.
Agreed, if Mueller is fired tRump will have provided even more evidence of obstruction for the criminal investigations. But who knows? tRump has repeatedly shown himself to be one of the greatest idiots the world has ever known. Do we all covfefe on that?

The Apprentice strikes again? The House needs to grow a pair and start the firing procedure on Trumpy.

He keeps setting them up, and he keeps knocking them down. I’m sure he believes that if he fires FBI directors fast enough, they’ll never catch him.

Just so he doesn’t do it on a Saturday night. ’Saturday night massacre" is already taken.

Closer to Nixon he is going almost like clockwork. And he can’t fire the entire FBI either.

WARNING TO TRUMP’S INQUISITORS – {rhyme}
When The Donald you track,
best cut him some slack, -
- or he’ll bushwhack and counter-attack.
By tweets he’ll yack
that you’d better draw back
lest he crack down or give you the sack.

OF THEE WE SING – {a rhyme}
Drums and bugles lead the corps:
Trump! aTrump! atrumpatrump Trump!
Who could ask for anything more?
Trump! aTrump! atrumpatrump Trump!
Bugles play fanfares to tribute our King.
Angels sing and popes kiss his ring.
Mueller might probe
the Emperor’s robe,
but he’ll find only glory and bling,
as The Donald continues to bring
America First!!
Into song we burst:
“O Donald, of THEE we sing!!”

And Nixon, though evil, had a few areas of competence, unlike trump.

Mueller can be fired, but you cannot fire your way out of legal prosecution.
Trump is just playing, he has no end game, it won’t end well.
