@STIPPLE I believe the cartoon actually refers to a leadership vacuum in the DEMOCRATIC party, but don’t take my word for it – as prior examples attest, I’m really, really terrible at recognizing sarcasm…
The Democratic Party has had a ‘leadership’ problem for decades! We all “know” whats best for our party and are not afraid to voice our opinions – loudly and vociferously. Having been a ‘member’ of the Republican party as well, I can personally attest to the ‘benefits’ of mindlessly following a ‘leader’! You have unity, commonality of purpose and you don’t have to think. There are definite upsides to being a flock of sheep instead of the herd of cats that make up the Democratic party. Unfortunately, I can’t go back to being a republican since I possess the intelligence to see that the sheep are being herded toward a cliff by a bunch of rabid sheepdogs! The Republican Party, in it’s present form has existed for only 30 to 40 years – likewise the Democratic Party. I think we are about to “reinvent” ourselves yet again, and the birthing process is NEVER pretty!
Imagine what it would be like if you stopped calling anyone that disagrees with you a racist, homophobe, zealot, bigot, sexist, misogynist, or whatever else. Try actually talking to someone that disagrees with you, instead of protesting through the streets, flipping cars, burning cars, delaying working people from getting home to their families, throwing Molotovs at the police, breaking bank windows, beating them with locks (a college professor did that nonetheless), and disrupting people that are at the college because you don’t like what they have to say.
In other words, be an adult.
The Republicans are not fabulous either, however only one side is rioting because they did not like what what someone said or because an election did not go their way.

There is a leadership vacuum for the Democrats who need a leadership cleanup crew. The Republicans seem to have a leadership wrecking ball.
