History should have told “W” and Cheney to keep out and they knew it. Trump overlooked, as most do, that SAUDI ARABIANS hiding from even the Afghan government planned 9/11. We bombed TWO countries that had nothing to do with the event. Now Trump has announced it’s going to be an endless war. Stupid is as stupid did. Obama was looking at pullout, the only smart thing, ask the Brits, or Mongols.
But….But…..President Obama and Vice President Biden states several times in the 2012 election debates that they were the ones that would have “all” of our troops out of Afghanistan by the end of 2013.
I hope that everyone upset at President Trump is equally upset at President Obama and Vice President Biden.
Presidents are uniquely unqualified to conduct long term wars – the only one in recent memory to even attempt to act ‘responsibly was Bush 41 when he slapped down Hussein for attempting to re-annex Kuwait – he famously DID NOT OVERTHROW Saddam Hussein as his allies (most of the Middle East) told him that there was no viable replacement for the Iraqi strongman. Bush 43 had no such compunctions since he went INTO his presidency wan a country where NO country has EVER wonWhere nting to "overthrow the man who tried to have his ’daddy’ assassinated"! He was temporarily distracted when a Saudi faction took down the Towers on 9/11 but he finally got rid of Saddam. Unfortunately there was no plan in place for ANYTHING after the fall of Saddam Hussein so THAT war went south in a hurry, while the pursuit of the Tower terrorists in Afghanistan went nowhere (our military had Osama and his crew surrounded, at one point, but they slipped away while our side was waiting for instructions!) Obama tried to get out of the Middle East but was blocked at every turn by Congress and our own military. And now Donnie is going to start increasing our troop presence in a country which has no ACTUAL central government and, evidently, his plan is to stay there “until we win!” In a country where NO foreign power has EVER won! And to add the “cherry” on top of the whole mess, Donnie has intimated that America will extract “something” from Afghanistan to help “pay” for the continuing war; witch is clearly against international law – not that Donnie gives a hoot about adhering to the rule of law!
It isn’t like Trump would wear glasses for the light at the end of the Afghanistan tunnel either. He is just using Obama’s plan, the only difference is he is doing it as a white guy.
