I know it’s a technical thing, but coq au vin is made from a rooster. If you use a hen, then (to a French cooking purist) you have made a (possibly delicious) different dish.
I do know about the sliding timeline idea, but you can’t then show someone being an adult in 1939 and also still young enough for fisticuffs in 2024. All Mike had to do was move Scardol up to the 1990s or so.
I know I’m not supposed to ask this, but is Dick Tracy immortal in-continuity? He remembers Scardol, who is apparently dead of old age, but somehow he’s still young and fit enough to beat up Croptop. The continuity doesn’t work even within this one story.
In my version of this comic, Croptop and Tracy are doing the same thing, and in the background we see Thug One and Thug Two running away in Croptop’s car. They are not fools (in my version), they don’t want to pick a fight with any cop, but certainly not Dick Tracy.
