I love reading History. I find it more fascinating than most fiction. Although a registered Independent voter, my political and social views lean to a conservative outlook. Both major political parties are, in my opinion, totally bankrupt in ideals and intent. Both pull too far in their respective direction, and all have sold themselves to the highest bidders. A New England Yankee, I have great admiration for the founders of our nation. The early ones, Washington, Adams Jefferson and others put their lives on the line. Add Madison, Franklin and more. We are most fortunate that our Revolution/Rebellion was organized and led by educated, enlightened men (not to forget Abigail and some other uncelebrated women) who thought far into the future, and it took other men like Jackson, Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt and FDR to maintain the hopes & dreams of millions. France's Revolution started well, but was taken over by lesser men, and fell into the Reign of Terror, and the Guillotine. Russia suffered Lenin & Trotsky. We were luckier! I cannot get through the day without reading the Comics. Regular comics first, then the Political 'toons. Unemployed for 35 months, I finally landed a good position with a good company! However, now I have less time to comment, (a relief to some) and less time to read other comments. Just typing out my gripes & diatribes gives me a feeling of being a little less helpless, and I feel better having said it. Sometimes I goof. I do like reading other comments: occasionally I learn something.

Agree, but Israel seems to be reacting just as HAMAS and Iran hoped. I have read a great deal of 19th & 20th century history, enough to know that other nations give little pushes here, some nudges there, slowly pushing two nations into a collision course. ALL countries do it, but I have little doubt that the Iranian Mullahs are pushing HAMAS and other groups to destroy the Jewish State, or simply, all the Jews. Their own rhetoric backs this assertion up. They are holding the Quoran up with one hand, and waving their scimitar with the other, egging on all “believers” to destroy the Jews and the Great Satan. In 1918, the Serbian “Black Hand” group assasinated an Austrian Noble, and dragged all the European powers into a war of unprecedented death and destruction. That little nitwit, Gavrilo Princip, said he was glad to have plunged Europe into the abyss. How many Princips are walking around the world today?

Sounds like Beverly MA, back in the 80’s. At a point on the waterfront was a very old oil storage area, dating pre-WWI. The soil was heavily contaminated. As it was abandoned, a developer wanted to build condos there. Waterfront condos!! $$$$ Whoopie! Town Hall said no at first, yet construction began after a year. I never learned how Town Hall, regulations were dealt with, but I did read that all buyers had to sign a document that they could not file any lawsuits if anyone developed cancer.

This situation is very similar to what one-time presidential candidate William Seward called “an irrepressable conflict”, meaning in his time, slavery. And, as another Pres. candidate expressed “A house divided cannot stand. It will be come all of one, or all of the other”. Alfred Balfour should have kept his mouth SHUT, and not thrown out a vague promise and then walk away. When the time came, Britain pretty much dumped it into America’s lap, and America did exactly what Saudi King Azziz warned FDR against. The PEOPLE of all the surrounding countries would not accept a Jewish state in the area. The worst horrors are yet to come. We can only hope that the next Islamic/Jewish clash will not be another Sarajevo.

Kind of like when Hobbes pounced out-of-nowhere and tackled Calvin. Getting up and releasing Calvin, Hobbes opined “How did you humans last long enough to make tools?”

These people in St Louis: Can they vote?

I don’t see Biden “supporting” war crimes, but many see it that way, and YES, it will cost him, as well as a poorly secured southern border with an emphasis on helping, supporting, housing these illegals while growing homelessness of once-working Americans is pushed aside. The dems don’t seem to see how it might cost them come November.

I’m still waiting for some folks from Georgia to comment on WHY they will still vote for her.

Sorry guys, but I don’t think your hopes will come to fruition.

More and more people like her are still coming to the forefront. Where, when can we begin our turn back towards rationality and political discourse? (Thanks a lot, Newt Gingrich! You started the destruction during your tenure as Speaker!)
