   How often has someone shared their faith with you in an open, loving way that makes you wonder and have a sense for the divine? That’s the work of Christians. Not to be in control but to give up control and trust. And it sounds like the Christians that you have met in your life have failed you in that regard. And that does sadden me. My hope for you is only peace and joy.

   It’s our fault (believers) for retreating from the culture. People of faith need to be open about their beliefs. How else will non believers even have the option to learn and believe? Being silent leads to this. I’m sorry you are saddened but the faith is still alive and it is beautiful!

   The entire story of Israel prefigures the coming of the Christ and, for Christians, his incarnation, death and resurrection. As do many stories in other faith traditions. (Read CSLewis). So , to depict prefiguring occurring prehistory is apt.

   We are all wonderfully and beautifully made by our creator! Our responsibility is to see that beauty in all people whatever their circumstances and troubles. Matthew Perry and your brother added so much to this world as we are all created to do in our own special way. Prayers for all affected by this terrible tragedy and this terrible affliction. May we find peace and joy in our lives by helping others.
