Umm… no comment for fear of getting it out of family territory.

In America, “hard” beverages are alcoholic, and usually called “hard” to distinguish them from “soft drinks” that have no alcohol. “Hard liquor” usually denotes distilled beverages (but not distilled water). Strange, eh?

My wife used to ask me what I was thinking, many decades ago. I would respond, “nothing,” until she got more vocal about it. Then I would explain my train of thought, which is almost always rather technical and very philosophical, requiring ten minutes or more to explain… especially when she asked questions. After a while she stopped asking, but now my grandson and I have those sort of conversations for the duration of our walks together.

No hanging clothes outside here: HOA rules forbid it. Sometimes the weather would anyway, especially when the day’s high is still well below freezing.

Of course, not all jobs are sedentary. We worked at a desk quite a lot and in the field quite a lot. The only parts we dreaded were the ones where we got very cold and very wet, staying alive only through generating enough body heat that it didn’t matter how snowy and wet we were. I’m so glad to be retired!

Of course you couldn’t resist: you are the Da’Dad! My son-in-law has a T shirt that says, “I keep all my Dad jokes in a Dadabase.”

When I worked in general aviation (small planes) I noticed a big component in airsickness is psychological. After an in-flight maneuver when I was not expecting it, I got a salty taste in my mouth (stage 1) when the engine started if I was in a plane that I knew we were going to fly, but not if I knew we were just taxiing.

Eventually, a Game and Fish pilot told me about ginger capsules. Two capsules ten minutes or so before going kept the gorge from rising, as it were.
