Just after CropTop just happens to get her hands on the actual obscure comic book Scardol wrote his clues on & just after B.O. Plenty just happens to win a Batmobile & then just happens to drive past Croptop & her accomplice in the park.
Of course, there can’t be that many people driving around in Tracyville in Batmobiles. Even a quick on line search should turn up the fact someone named B.O. Plenty just won a Batmobile at a con. Then again, CropTop may just get her information from comic books.
When has Mike created a truly original & memorable villain? The last one that comes to my mind is Nitrate Sprocket, & when last seen she was leading a respectable middle-class life in the suburbs. I respect that writing a daily strip isn’t easy & not all Chester Gould’s characters were at the level of Pruneface or Flattop, but still, the strip does seem to have faded in recent years.
Boy, Scardol sure picked a secluded place in the park to bury his loot .. a car seems to drive by every 27.5 seconds or so. He might as well have buried it in the parking lot of the MCU.
To be a little fair to Mike, the depiction of violence in the strip in recent years may be the result of editorial dictates from the syndicate (although characters still die in the Minute Mysteries). But the villains increasingly getting away — that’s on Mike.
