A pound of cheese is good, especially if it's good cheese. My point is clear.

My siblings and I picked up the complaining about being bored from our cousins, and our parents very quickly found a cure for that. Any time we would say, “I’m bored,” my folks would give us something to do, from cleaning out the garage, raking up gumballs from the dozens of trees in the yard, washing cars and trucks, and cleaning out Dad’s shop. We very quickly learned to not say we were bored and to find ways to entertain ourselves. I haven’t been bored since 1989!

Do you think this commenter doesn’t know the story of the flood? This comic strip doesn’t indicate the ark is atop a mountain. This commenter was making a joke, being that “Why is it up here on a mountain?” being something the potential buyer was asking. And the story was that the whole world was flooded. The top of the mountain didn’t appear until the waters started receding. According to the Bible. It’s a fun story to read, but doesn’t fit with other recorded histories at that same time period.

I guess I’m the rare bird being I seem to be the only one who doesn’t Google “Earl Pickles” from time to time.

The mirror image should be reversed. Or else Grandma went around with a shirt with the print reading backwards.

I’ll never understand how so many modern parents will let their children dictate the dinner menu. Our grandparents generation never would have imagined that and would put a stop to the nonsense in no time flat. My kids ate what we gave them and their “option” was to eat or go without. They’ll eat when they get hungry enough!

Imagine if Earl insulted Opal the same as she insults him all the time. She is so unlikable.

There’s a convicted rapist and convicted tax fraud cheat not serving time. Yet.

I’ve been reading this strip for 30 years and I’ve always seen Darryl as being a pretty hands-on dad. This trope of the man of the house being a big sniveling useless child when he’s sick is tired and played out. If that’s where they’re going with this strip, they’re doing a disservice to a good parent character.
