   Yeah, why do we have to know? In a proper world, there would be the initial announcement, silence, and occasional updates when something significant happens completely surrounded by silence.

   Unfortunately, that doesn’t see media time and advertising.

   I seriously doubt it was something so simple as “the Democratic Party”. Probably more on line with zoning regulations, willingness of a landlord to rent the facility to a Planned Parenthood or like organization, willingness of the NIMBY crowd to tolerate such a place in their area, etc. Lower class, heavily black, neighborhoods are usually more tolerant of such places than up-tight white, suburban neighborhoods. Besides, if put in the latter, the upper class, white clientele would have difficulty using them . . . . . because they wouldn’t want to be seen by the neighbors going inside.
