   That is counterproductive. I only accepted rides from people who insisted, who were going my way. I often regretted it because they were the types to push you to accept the gift of a ride then take it out on you with gaslighting, mind twisting messed up head games. I was like a magnet to those types. My narcissistic, pedo, dad started the trend. He messed with my head so much I couldn’t get a drivers licence. I HAD to learn to be independent, to mask my feelings and ‘flaws’ -anything the narcissist says is a flaw which are actually my strengths, and finally had to isolate because empaths, which is the result of a lifetime of gaslighting, makes us narcissist candy. It is possible your ‘friend’ was dysfunctional for similar reasons. People are really quick to judge which causes more damage.

   I never drove. I rode transit, walked, rode a bike or got a ride with someone. I like my little Jetson Pro e bike for small trips but I can’t wait to afford one that can go farther and can be charged without the need to bring the bike inside.

   My adult daughter is always leaving lights on when not in use. She doesn’t pay hydro in her building. I turn them off which earns me a rebuke to which I reply, “You don’t have to pay the bill."
