The parents might have had a Corningware. Honestly don’t remember as I was still in grade school at that time and I just liked watching it work. I do remember Mom stocking up on the MJB during the coffee shortage time though. Now we drink the Costco pallet o’ Folgers at work. I leave the good stuff for the weekends!

Do I spy a percolator there?!? My parents had one of those in the 70’s.

If there were a place like that around here, I’d drink them out of business for sure! ;)

Definitely not your frou frou drinks. Standard, straight-up cup o’ Joe in most places will refresh your cup for free.

I’m in MT and it looks like it was 4.76% for 72 months. I paid it off in 4-1/4 years. I’m sure I could have gotten a lower APR had I chosen a shorter term, but I wanted the flexibility of lower payments if needed. If I run my credit reports they’re very high, but not topped out. I took that information and ran some simulators but took a SWAG at the APR. I was shocked at what they came back with. Problem was that at the time, I was without a vehicle to get to and from work, so I needed something other than a perpetual rental car.

Anyway, it’s done. I’m now driving a vehicle made this century that has a lot more computing power than what was on Apollo! And I for sure an NOT interested in something that has to “phone home” every couple of hours for “updates” and to transmit your driving habits to your insurance company!!

Thing is, I technically had perfect credit. No outstanding debts, a long history of income and on time payments. The only “black” mark was the fact I wasn’t making over six figures to the point I didn’t need a loan. That’s where is screwed up, IMHO.

In 2017 my old ‘84 truck finally died and I had to get something so I could get to work. Picked up a real nice ’15 Camry with real low mileage. I have a decent job, never been late on ANY payment of any kind in the past 40 years. Yet I still had a fairly high APR on the car loan. Thankfully I could pay it off a year early. You can’t win for losing.

That’s one reason I go to the podiatrist every couple of months. And insurance pays for it!!
