   False equivalency (no surprise). Epileptic seizures can be, and are, debilitating. Hence, the condition is treated medically to stop the seizures. LGBTQ IS NOT A DISEASE. MENTAL OR OTHERWISE. It is an expression of SEXUALITY, and the only “debilitating” effects is the bigotry, ignorance, and hatred they experience at the hands of others who believe LGBTQ sexuality is a “disease”. If you truly want to stop “surgical mutilation and chemical sterilization” outlaw plastic surgery and birth control pills. Yeah, breast implants and pregnancy could be considered a “disease” by your definition. Perhaps you’ve been “touched by the gods” in the sense you have been blinded by them. Human sexuality is much more complex than conforming to standards of current society, and is NOT deserving of your false “pity”.

   Yup, my dad used to say that, his dad before him, and so on ad infinitum. Every generation is more “whimpy” than the last. When great granddad walked ten miles a day in a blizzard to the old creaky one room schoolhouse with a tiny potbelly stove (no coal) for heat/s. Making things a bit safer, a bit healthier is not such a bad thing.
