   This seems fairly out of character for TJ. He likes to goof around and push buttons at times, but it sure doesn’t seem like he would be one to take it on himself to bring up the topic of a personal matter like having a baby. I realize it is for a comic strip, but this would be more something that Luann would do.

   This arc is most certainly dragging, but it will be interesting if Bets is allowed to develop a new/adjusted persona. Karen is not particularly good at character development and growth. With Gunther’s persistence, if maintained, there is a chance that they could have a normal relationship. That would be a refreshing chance.

   Luann was using her phone for navigation in the car. She would have already known there was no cell service.

   It would be different if they had a house-sitter while they were gone, but Bernice has been living with them for 2 years. She is going to know when the dog needs to be let out. I mean, I get the point that they were trying to be funny, but it just once again becomes a lazy effort by G&K.

   Out of curiosity, what would you consider their “superb” work? Are you simply referring to topics? I’ve been reading Luann for a very long time. However, for the last several years, it has been with the SOLE hope that Karen turns the corner and actually shows she cares about the characters and their development. Over the last 8 years, if not longer, what arc has been done that was actually good all the way through without an underwhelming ending, if not being meh the entire time? I’m legitimately curious. Several comics have declined significantly after a change of author. Luann is one of them. Karen has not been good for Luann. Definitely way more bad content than good.

   Absolutely. What is disappointing is that Karen has been working with the strip for over 10 years and doesn’t appear to be getting any better at it.

   G&K (especially K) simply disappoint at nearly every opportunity. They just never let the characters grow and develop. I just wish they’d give the comic to someone that actually likes the characters and wants to do something with them. It has only got worse since Karen has got involved.

    It’s like Amos in 9 Chickweed Lane. His over-the-top and constant awkwardness just got so unbelievably old that I stopped reading it.
