I have many happy memories of taking our dogs for a run. I always teased them by saying “do you” “do you want to” then “go for a run?” Then they would explode with happiness and we were off to enjoy the paths in the woods or the pond on the mountain!
When my beloved Crystal died I repurposed her leash as a “lead rope” on my kayak. Now she is with me each time I go kayaking, which is always enjoyable in so many ways. She was buried along with other family pets in the backyard of the family home. When the home was sold it was difficult to leave her.
I remember how excited my mother was when she brought us to the clinic for polio vaccines. I think I was in kindergarten at the time. Childhood diseases were rampant in those days. So sad that today’s parents don’t understand what a gift vaccines are.
