Way back in the late 50’s I remember a pleasant trip to Williamsburg, Virginia as a member of the Rutgers band. We were there for a football game vs. William & Mary College. The next afternoon, which was very warm and humid, we were invited to participate in a parade through Old Williamsburg. Several times, when the parade stopped for a few minutes, some ladies came off front porches with pitchers of lemonade and paper cups to quench our thirsts, a most welcome kindness. I have fond memories of that trip and the hospitality shown to us by the citizens of that beautiful Virginia city.
Actually, I was thinking that a lot of us oldtimers might find that useful.
