“Porn is oppression and exploitation, mostly of women and often of underage ones. It generates human trafficking, and severe mental problems, particularly among young people.”

When I look at [free] nude photos, I’m “generating human trafficking”? With due respect, sounds rather “stigmatizing” to me.

    (“underage women”? the heck?)

How many of Mike’s friends has Kim met at this point? The mad weird goes further than J.J.

According to Wikipedia, “Revenge porn is the distribution of sexually explicit images or videos of individuals without their consent.” I doubt it’s confined to free porn sites, and I doubt it’s all that free porn sites consist of.

When I see the term “revenge porn,” I invariably have a moment of thinking, “What, like the rape-and-revenge films from the seventies?” Then I remember that I already know the actual definition.

The demand for porn is what ( long before the internet, of course) kept VCR manufacturers in business until VCRs became inexpensive enough for the general public. Or so I read somewhere. I’d be unsurprised if the same is true of DVD players.

To be fair, adding nude bridesmaids would be a perfectly sensible business decision. It would bring in more viewers. That’s just a fact.

That never happens. They’re together to this day.

Before I started using the internet, I’d read about people getting upset about internet porn and think to myself, “Well, come on, it’s just nude photos, how bad can it be?” Years after the fact, even my mother (with whom I don’t live, incidentally) had to laugh at that level of naivete. :-)

With due respect, please define “porn.” If the definition encompasses photos of nude women provided by Google Search and/or Bing Search without actually taking one to any other sites, then I look at it every now and then. If it doesn’t, then I don’t.

Yes, as a heterosexual male, I enjoy occasionally viewing images of nude women who meet my subjective standards of attractiveness. If that makes me a bad person, fine, I’ll just have to be a bad person. Chronic depression keeps me confined to my apartment most days and, I assure you, actual nude women aren’t showing up at my door. Which is just as well, since chronic depression also prevents me from maintaining anything approaching a respectable environment in my apartment; I’d be embarrassed for any woman to see it.. :-|FWIW I haven’t looked at actual porn sites in years, though. Aside from any number of other negative features I could list, IIRC they almost all have white text on black background and I find that very hard to read.

    ADDENDUM:

In fact, now that I think about it, not only would I be unable to read responses to other posts, I won’t be able to read responses to my own earlier post, either. I won’t even be able to read responses to THIS post. So be it.

Well, there’s no way I’m opening THAT. I have a very low tolerance for bile (from any side). And since I can’t open any of the other threads without opening that one and exposing myself to the aforementioned bile, I guess I’m done here for today. Drive safely, everybody.
