Victoria: OK... pre-marriage agreement question #1... resolving arguments... Joe: Um... wait, Victoria. Did you just decide we're getting married? Victoria: No, not yet. That's what the questionnaire is for... and let's stay in order. Decision making is question #3... Joe: Whatever happened to dating? Victoria: At our age, and in this economy, this IS dating.

Oh, come on guys…I think she’s cute. Not to mention practical. Romance shmomance…….BTW, I told you she took the salt and pepper shakers and the napkin holder to their favorite booth.
Varnes over 14 years ago
In panel one, what is that behind the napkin holder? A wall? Where is it in the other panels…? Are they pictures from a ferret cam?
Varnes over 14 years ago
OK, it could be the floor, so I guess it’s one of those booths that are open on both ends…..haven’t seen too many myself…

Dracip, have you ever heard of “Artistic License?” Give Wiley a break!
On second thought, he might be testing you…… You never know.

I agree Running seems to be the best game plan!

I like the different angles instead of the same scene over and over again. Keep up the good work Wiley!
Romance can come after the wedding…. oh wait, the kids. Romance can come after the kids are in college.

It’s too late to answer all the questions wrong. She Has Decided! It’s just her way of making him realize that they need to get married. . Unless she decided the other way, and this is her way of telling him to get lost…
AAaaarrgh!! Why can’t people just say what they mean?!

Alley Oop and Joe, both of them had better start running, quickly and fast.

what’s question #2? come on, come on, come on, plllleaseeee.
Justice22 over 14 years ago
Hey guys, the marriage will never happen. It would ruin the cartoon. It may happen when Popeye marries Olive Oil or Mickey marries Minnie?
stewdeo3bs over 14 years ago
Sounds like a good idea, much like making transportation arrangements before drinking. once you start it’s too late to make rational decisions that could affect you the rest of your life.

Just say no and walk away, you owe her nothing.

I think Victoria wants Joe to make the commitment real good but Joe has hardly made the commitment for his second marriage. Eh!

I thought Sadie Hawkin’s Day was February 29. Joe just needs to adopt the mantra: ‘I need more time to make up my mind’. I plan to have that engraved on my tombstone.
Gotta admit, I love the idea Mr. Wiley. You’re work is of the best in the business. Danae locking horns with her step-mother is a scenario that has great possibilities. Does/Will/Could the step-mother come complete with a pet?
ronaldmundy over 14 years ago
look at all the baggage…..and you want a pet?
parethed over 14 years ago
Slooowwly he turns…step by step…
Mr.Gareth over 14 years ago
Yes, I would like to see a pet. Something Danae could warm up to, perhaps a snake?
pearlandpeach over 14 years ago
Excellant, parethed. gave me a chuckle.
ronaldmundy over 14 years ago
a snake? she already has an imaginary horse. let’s not muddle the situation. NIAGARA FALLS………

Victoria is an extremely insecure woman who wants to control Joe - and will never admit she is wrong, until it is too late. Joe just wants to please - and likes what he sees at this point in time. But what he fails to understand is the old saying “Women marry men, expecting them to change (ie, change to “something” better); men marry women expecting them to stay the same. This major difference in their starting points is the beginning of the end……………………………

These are only 2 of the practical questions that one has to ask oneself as early as possible, to avoid years of drama and trauma with a person whose relationship style, needs and goals are simply a mismatch.
Unfortunately, as reflected in our national divorce rate, the public is about as comfortable with applying practical questions to marriage prospects as they are with explaining the facts-of-life to their children.
Perhaps Victoria’s questionnaire will make him think about how easy and natural it was to get-along with Brenda.

This questionnaire is a lot more sensible than the ones in most magazines. It doesn’t make sense to pretend there won’t be disagreements. My wife and I decided before getting married that we would work through any problems we had instead of giving up. Too bad my ex didn’t look at it that way. Instead of working things out she just left. I’m interested in seeing how this story arc ends up.
