Sara, you got high hopes. I went though 3 couches before my daughters moved out.

I was the last of four kids. By the time I was setting up my first place the pickings were slim to none.

My Dad told me I’d have to start paying rent after high school if I was still living with them. I asked Dad to sign for me so I could enter the US Navy “college” for lay abouts. The plan saved their couch and I learned a whole lot. ;-)

When I was about to turn 10, my ‘step dad’ of 2 years, told my mom he ’couldn’t live with me’ anymore. So he called CAS, and I was removed from the house. SO I never got this chance. Every piece of furniture I own cost me – either food or clothing. I am the only sibling to get a degree, and of my 30 cousins, I’m the 10th to graduate college! :D

Obviously mom has not seen many college apartment couches. There is no such thing as a worn out couch at UW-Madison. Throw one on the curb and it will be gone before midnight. Doesn’t even matter if the cushions are missing.
