Brazil isn’t in Central America…I’d say this has something to do with many Central American peoples’ children arriving within your country because of the poverty and violence they face at home.
It may seem inhumane, but borders have to be secure. There are millions in Central America that would like an instant better life and there are thousands more being born every day. The solution is stability back home. I’m puzzled how whole bus-loads of undocumented people are able to cross the border at border crossings. Isn’t there border security? Unmanned border points I can understand.
“Say, if you could help me with this problem, it would actually benefit both of us…”“NO! It’s YOUR fault, not MY fault! Stop blaming me for everything!”
With great power comes great responsibility. Throw all the little refuges out of the country. In twenty years or so, expect that action to come back and bite americans in the ass.
@jack75287For sure the United States is responsible for many problems of the central american states, because the ruled the politics and business there for the whole last century. But – like the european colonial states also did – they forgot to develope the countries for the people there. Now we get what we sow.
Consider population density and cost of living. Trying to absorb 30,000 (a month!) uneducated people into our system is expensive. When will we see you donate all your income/savings to finance this? Will you quit your job and start wiping noses and teach English? What will you do when you run out of other people’s money?
Going back to Reagan and Iran/Contra is a large part of the problem, but he was just following up on previous U.S. stupidity in Central America, he only made it worse.
I meant no personal discourtesy. I was talking to the entire “do the right thing” industry. I didn’t ask about your income in detail ‘cause as you note, it’s none of my business. I retired after 42 years in my field but my annuity + SSA, after taxes, limit my choices. My real grumble is the politicos that support all these good deeds don’t think through to the consequences. The usual consequence, of course, is forcing the cost onto the backs of the taxpayer.
