I knew a guy in college, back when college students were supposed to be so liberal and idealistic, who enthusiastically read all of Ayn Rand’s books and incorporated them into his personal philosophy in order to be a big shot after graduation. He also devotedly read “Playboy” and embraced the Playboy Philosophy. Perhaps as a result he had three different coeds on the line, alternatively, at the same time. In addition, a couple times he thought his “protection” had a hole in it, and he prayed the rosary that the girl didn’t get pregnant. I wonder what he’s doing now? Probably in politics or CEO of a company.
I just read an excellent article in Slate about James McGill Buchanan and Charles Koch. (http://www.slate.com/articles/life/history/2017/06/james_mcgill_buchanan_s_terrifying_vision_of_society_is_the_intellectual.html?wpsrc=sh_all_dt_fb_top)I don’t know where these types of people get the idea that they are the only people that matter. I’d forgotten (temporarily) about Ayn Rand and the influence she had.
