    For the most part, the "person’ responsible for drawing your voting district lines is called “Republican” though in a few cases he’s known as “Democrat”. in neither case is he objective about the divisions. This is why we need a Court-established ‘non-partisan’ decision on where the lines should be drawn – this would at least be “more fair” if not completely fair!.

    Use multi-member districts with single transferrable vote. It makes effective gerrymandering much more difficult (especially, IMO, if there are an even number of members), it eliminates the very idea of “throwing away your vote”, it dramatically reduces the effect of overwhelmingly high concentrations of voting blocs, and, with 4 or more members, it gives minorities an opportunity to elect their own.
