The earliest known personification of the United States was as a woman named Columbia, who first appeared in 1738 (pre-USA) and sometimes was associated with another female personification, Lady Liberty. With the American Revolutionary War came Brother Jonathan, a male personification, and Uncle Sam finally appeared after the War of 1812.7 Columbia appeared with either Brother Jonathan or Uncle Sam, but her use declined as a national personification in favor of Liberty, and she was effectively abandoned once she became the mascot of Columbia Pictures in the 1920s.
You know, he doesn’t really give a fig about this. Seth Meyers showed a picture of him holding a rainbow flag. He claims Man Coulter persuaded trump to throw a bone to his base. And he acted like trannies aren’t already in the military.
Trump, who was (and is) such a coward, with all his past draft-dodging and current bullying of people he perceives to be weak (yet in all cases are much stronger than him), probably should never saying anything at all about the military. Or any other topic…….
Good one, @Dtroutma! And lately in my science, it has become quite clear that the psychological state of gender is NOT binary — it is a continuum, like handedness, meaning that most everyone has both genders represented to some extent.
And you didn’t even get into the “intersex” individuals, or the XXY folks, etc.
Turns out this sex & gender thing is a lot more complicated than some people think…

To all the commentators so far, good job. Can’t top this and learned a little something on top of it. Nice.
