Did they write the song because people had already been dreaming of a white Christmas, or do people dream of a white Christmas because of the song? To me, snow on Christmas is more nightmare than dream. Who wants to drive through snow on Christmas day? Oh dear, does that make me sound as if I should be ending with “Bah, HUMBUG!”?

I agree Daniel, after living in Western NY where it snowed by the foot from October to April…this is why we moved to California.
