Bad as my mother-in-law. I tell her dinner is ready, she decides to trundle out to the dunny and smoke half a pack (we won’t let her smoke inside) and doesn’t come in til it’s ice cold. Her dinner that is, we refuse to wait for her!
I know it’s a comic but that doesn’t make sense. In her explanation he should have gone straight to the bathroom after she announced dinner. Technically her plan should’ve worked. Is the gag that he spaced out that one time and forgot so out of 365 times he forgot the one time she planned to trick him? Food for thought. ;)

I was brought up to believe that headgear of any kind is not welcome at the dinner table (or even indoors at all).
