The last line from Pucky is one of my all-time favorites and I quote it all the time.

Love this one – especially the part about patrolling the closet. Also, never can go wrong with cats pajamas.

Oh, we believe you, Lupin. Elvis just has to be a naysayer.

Puck continues to remind me of Bagheera. He knew how to open doors by pawing at the handle, though he wasn’t very good at it! Then there was Larry, who would scratch at the door and then just sit there looking at you until you invited him into the room. (At least he was polite!) And now Blossom makes a ruckus outside my door whenever she wants in, and I think she does what Pucky’s doing right there!

Ah, cats. Gotta love ’em. :D

“You don’t have to let who’s-their-whiskers in.” Let one in and not another? Oh, yeah. That’ll work just great.

Don’t worry, Puck, you’ll be able to sleep in your usual spot soon.

The only locked door we have is into the den- which is where the Lady J does/did her sewing. LOTS of evil things for a kitty to get into, so we just label that one “off limits”. Because, being the cats they are, they will- and do- find their way into ANYTHING.

Oh, Lupin! Your agility is to be admired, but Elvis is right. You’ve ruined the night for everybody. Now Elvis can’t protect the baby. Puck can’t sleep in his usual spot.

I adore Puck and his pajamas and matching sleep mask—brushing his teeth before going to bed.

    And Elvis reading the newspaper.

Lupin you might be agile – yes, we totally believe you are – but the Man also calls you a Horse and you THWUMP like a brick.

Pissy Lupin with his paws crossed and tail twitching. And no cat can do righteous indignation like Elvis.

So many glimpses of Puck’s floofy white spot today plus Elvis’s reading glasses. It’s going to be a good day.

“Let’s see what we have here…” Megan was prowling through the refuse, looking for… who knows what. “He’s young-ish, didn’t see a ring so he’s not married. Probably. I never know for sure with human males… Still, he’ll have a mother. I’ve never been through a dump or junkyard that didn’t offer something shiny, something precious.” Further into the dump, always looking up to make sure she wasn’t being observed, Megan kept her eyes rooted deeply into the trash. What she wanted would never have been seen by a human eye- not in the midst of all this debris. But with her eyesight, and that undefinable “sixth sense”, Megan made the impossible seem commonplace. Tonight would be no exception. “Hello… what’s this?” The glint of the metal brought her search to a pile of dry trash that looked like it was set there to be scooped up later. “That’ll work…” She said, then reached her nose into the pile and pushed the waste aside to reveal a beautiful ladies ring. “Always liked Celtic braids…” she thought, and she gently picked it up between her front teeth and trotted off.

Megan knew a lot of things. Some things by education- like when she was the shop cat for a jeweler. She may have overheard how to spot real gold, or how to know base metal from silver. But sometimes she also knew what was needed without knowing how she knew it. Like with Frank, the truck driver who they interrupted earlier. She knew the ring would be a good gift, but would have no knowledge of Frank’s girlfriend. She didn’t know the woman, nor the fact that this was the one-year anniversary of the passing of her mother. Her Irish mother. Megan just felt it would be a good gift and would help smooth out the ragged edges of the day. So she went to the garage where the truck was having its new hose installed. There, she heard Frank talking to the mechanic about how hard he was going to “push” to finish his route. She ran to the truck and jumped into the cab. Then she peeled back a small section of the duct tape she got from Tre-C, stuck the ring to it, and set it on the passenger seat. Then a dead run to the fence and out onto the street. “Nice day today,” she thought. “I think I’ll walk…”

Woman – What’s the problem? Lupin can walk on the bassinet without falling in and if he should which he wouldn’t, the Baby will welcome him. The problem is shutting all out of the bedroom.

Basic feline rule: if the door isn’t open, stick your paw under it. That should open it.

Not one but three miffed moggies :) Of course Elvis, as usual, mumbles in a most dignified manner about the injustice done upon his self. And poor Puck, I hope he gets his beauty sleep.

No such thing as closed doors allowed in my house. What the boys can’t bash or jiggle open they have figured out to open using the door handles. I have the lever type because of mild arthritis in my hands and they’re big enough to stand up and push the lever down themselves … don’t always have the sense to push the door open though

Lupin doesn’t stay down for long! Loving Elvis with his specs, Puck with his jiggling the door & his “whose their whiskers” line. Happy Sunday everyone. Hope everyone finds some joy in their day today, & those in our family that are hurting I hope you can find joy, comfort & peace.

Good morning and happy Bunday, orbsters and orbabies. I am thinking that the scene is prime for a 2AM running of the cats, instigated by Lupin, of course.

Finn and Molly get shut out of the bedroom every night, because Molly will not let us sleep! She feels compelled to make sure we aren’t dead by stomping up the entire length of out bodies, starting at our ankles, shoving her face right into ours, and yelling. Every. Five. Minutes.

(Finn settles down right next to me like a little teddy bear, and purrrrrs me to sleep… and then, just as I start to doze off, he decides it’s time to sing me a lullaby. Mrrrow, mroooooow…. meeeYOOOOOOOW, mrrrow mrooooow….)

Paw under the door story: All of our cats are indoor cats, but they are fascinated by the events that happen all through the year out on the deck near the kitchen, and join in from the garden window and by “meerkatting” at the back door. Sally was new to our team when she was watching from the back door, and she reached under the screen door to try and bat at the dog’s tail (he was sitting with his back to the door, waiting to be let in). Skyy felt the swipe, turned around, saw the paw, and LICKED IT! Sally quickly backed away from the door, poofed, hissed, and disappeared into the basement for the rest of the day! And #2, love the “cat’s everywhere” trope, because every cat is the center of (their own) universe.

Puck in his jammies….. so cute!

I do enjoy seeing all the BCN crew in their nighttime attire, all so cute!

A shut door and a broken routine, let’s hope no more earth-shattering events happen for the crew tonight, this is more than enough to deal with.
