Re: Panel 3-No, Lucy, that’s NO excuse, to destroy Schroeder’s piano-“Well, he never pays any attention to me!” And yes, same difference, with Linus’ blanket, on Sunday, February 20, 1966, I think, when Sally did the exact same thing, to the blanket, for the exact same reason-for Linus “not caring if she liked him or not,” which set her off into a great rage, thus she snatched the blanket from him, and threw it up into a tree. Apparently, that was not the kite-eating tree; Linus’ blanket never got eaten, even if he would have to wait till it got windy out, to get it back. Yes,SO MUCH unrequited love, in Peanuts—even Linus himself had been such a victim, in June 1986, when Lydia was introduced(his love interest, and she wanted nothing to do with him.)

Here’s something to think about. The Kite Eating Tree is eerily reminiscent of the legendary Man Eating Trees of Africa. It looks like an ordinary tree. It probably smells like an ordinary tree. But it clearly has limited intelligence and carnivorous tendencies. Okay, we have only seen it eats kites and a small plastic piano – but what else does it eat? Supposing this is a juvenile Man Eating Tree… and that that is why Charlie Brown makes the Environmental Protection Agency’s wanted list for injuring it in a later strip?

I know this is just a harmless comic strip, but still…

Lucy is so dumb…I completely hate her. Who cares if he doesn’t pay attention to her?
