Transcript:
Charlie Brown walks down off his doorstep.<BR><BR> He looks up at a tree and remarks: "Hello, you dirty kite-eating tree! Have you had a hard winter? I'll bet you're hungry, aren't you?"<BR><BR> He bends over and says to the tree trunk: "I'll also bet that you hate me, don't you? You hate because I recognize you for what you are, a dirty, scheming, no-good, kite-eating tree!"<BR><BR> Charlie Brown stands to one side and throws his arms open wide, declaring: "You also hate me because you need me! I'm the only one around here who flies kites, and without me, you'd get pretty hungry!"<BR><BR> He points at the tree: "What would you do if I decided not to fly any kites this year? What would you do?" he demands.<BR><BR> "YOU'D STARVE TO DEATH, THAT'S WHAT YOU DO!"<BR><BR> Charlie Brown points and says, "It sort of shakes you up, doesn't it? Without me, you're nothing!!" The tree trembles; a few leaves fall.<BR><BR> Charlie Brown walks up to Lucy, who looks at him.<BR><BR> Lucy bedns towards him as he walks past. She says, "Excuse me, Charlie Brown, but you look sort of different...like some sort of change has come over you..." Charlie Brown answers, "I think maybe it has..."<BR><BR> Charlie Brown smiles, "For the first time in my life I feel needed!"<BR><BR>
