I have a fear of drowning, ever since my dad tried to teach me to swim by throwing me in a stream. I live by a beach in Michigan, and I rarely go out there. When I do go, I never go into the water more than waist deep. If it gets up to my chest, I get anxious…start breathing heavier and faster.
