Mind you, I think it’s quite common for the default pronoun for cats to be “she” (if you don’t actually know) and for dogs “he”.

For most of my childhood I thought Nermal was a girl. It was the eyelashes. Also in Garfield and Friends he was voiced by a woman, so that didn’t help me.

I always thought that was true when I was little.

It is quite common for people, and children in particular, to assume dogs are male and cats are female. It’s even a trope: Female Feline, Male Mutt.

I’m gonna have 2 boy dogs tomorrow though…

My dog(s)’s names: Bailey (boy), Kahlua (girl), & ??? (boy POSSIBLY NAMED EZRA :D)

Cat(s)’s names: Mimsy (girl), & Roxas (boy)

It never crossed his mind how they reproduced with only one gender… or has he not had that talk yet?
