Did the Mayor get voted out in a free and fair election? Did the Mayor deny she lost and attempt to negate the vote or overturn the State House in an effort to remain in office?

Maybe it would have helped if the people responsible for dealing with crime actually did their job.

She actually blamed other blacks for running against her.

Now that crime is affecting the upper levels of Chicago it might get addressed.

Gavin Newsom ruined a city as mayor, now a state as governor. So it’s only logical that Lightfoot run for Illinois governor! That state is already a mess, she’s got a good head start.

There have been many one-term mayors, both Democrats and Republicans, in cities and towns of all sizes throughout the USA. It’s not as if the people of Chicago replaced Ms. Lightfoot with a conservative Republican.

It was fairly criminal the way she was constantly disparaged by the extremist right wing politicians and media. That could make it really hard to do your job successfully. Hopefully Chicago gets a mayor with thicker skin that can tolerate the opposition. It’s a tough job for sure.
