I don’t rate myself singing karaoke. I let hubby judge. There is an excellent reason why your voice sounds different when you speak and when you listen to a recording of it. You hear yourself speak two different ways: through the air and by bone conduction. There’s only the former when listening to the recording.

I’ve never tried karaoke, nor even experienced it. I do occasionally perform as a singer, and I get compliments from others.

Is it a function of your singing karaoke as such, or of the alcohol level in your blood you need to get you to grab the mike?
