I like how Kewpie wears a vest with his name on it. A dog with an identity crisis is very on brand for the Thornapples.

That’s a sofa? I thought it was an easy chair. I don’t think I’ve ever seen two sit in it at one time.

And, why can’t Gladys just say “Your dad doesn’t shed.” Instead she has to put him down in front of his son. She’s becoming more Mother Gargle every day.

This can be confusing to a dog, people sit in the chair, why can’t they? Do they think they are better than the dog?

Shedding dogs are a concern. I had three Saint Bernards years back that shed enough fur to make fur sweaters for everyone in Switzerland even AFTER brushing. We got throws because they liked the couches and regardless of training, they would find their way on the couch anyway or usually would just climb onto your lap. I gave up trying to make them stop after years on end. They finally stopped when one died and the other two had to be put down for medical reasons. I really miss seeing their fur, especially with them underneath it. Careful for what you wish for, it just may happen with some serious unintended consequences…..

Ah, yes! Gladys must have her little digs at Brutus, even if Brutus isn’t there.

Dogs should be a part of the family. If I went into a house where the dog was sent off the furniture, I would probably sit on the floor with the dog. That would ruin the comic today, though, which I do enjoy very much.
