In order to stop losing my keys, I built up a habit of always having them in my left front pocket. And so that I never had to worry about forgetting, I developed the habit of occasionally tapping my pocket to make sure they're there. Now, if I've loaned you my keys or I'm wearing a swimsuit, I stay nervous and jumpy. And your point is...? I've made myself neurotic for the sake of my sanity.

I do the same. And in addition I only use my deadbolt so if I forget my pants I can’t lock myself out. Works fine so far.
