Tigger, Obama’s ‘present’ vote would suggest he had problems with the Budget.
Sounds like you are stuck in the idea that all our problems began in 2007 when the Democrats took control of the House and Senate, and that President Bush had little to do with policy or leading the country after this take over?.
The Democrats took control of Congress in 2007 after nearly 12 years of unbroken Republican rule. Bush II had a Republican Congress for the first six years of his tenure, and all the spending bills were constructed and passed by this Republican majority. Bush II had already run up the national debt from $5.7 Trillion (1/01) to $8.7 Trillion (1/07) - increasing the debt by half again as much. You’ll have a hard time proving that the Republicans demonstrated any level of fiscal conservatism during the years in which they controlled the Congress and the presidency.
