Ha—this one made me laugh, mainly due to the “meatloaf” and “petunia” lines. Of course, I can relate all too well to the hassles of technology.

    @Lee Cox

Because then we’d have a really boring comic today!

HI, MOM. Good Sunday Morning, “Cathy” Clan.

Sadly, after all these years, this is still true.

Me too, rgcviper! Hahaha - meatloaf! ;)

Seriously though, I really hate the automated phone response systems that have you speak into it. Especially when it’s for insurance. There is no way I’m yelling my SSN or birthday or any other personal information in a room where other people are listening. I don’t mind pressing buttons, but hate talking to a computer that never seems to get it right. Grrr

Hello Cathy friends! Happy Sunday! The girls and I saw a fawn with her mom in our neighborhood this morning on our way out. What a lovely surprise!! :-)

Automated systems are difficult enough but I have an especially difficult time with the speaking ones because I have a speech impairment. I can’t pronounce things like “first” and “thirty” so I either have to switch it to buttons only or ask for an agent.

Hello Cathy friends and Happy Sunday! I love seeing deer lightenup since I grew up in the middle of the city, I never saw them until I moved to a more rural area as an adult. Now I see them quite often.

Lee Cox It may have been her umpteenth try. I have given up on some websites that just did not seem to want to stay connected with me – but then I don’t call them – I go to a competitor’s site instead.

I agree with rgcviper and lightenup – voice recognition is getting better but it is still a long way from not causing frustration. lightenup awesome seeing the fawn. Kind of makes the day special.

I just went back to catch up. Welcome back rgcviper. I’m done with class in August lightenup, then the real fun begins. I’m studying for my license test and of course I need to look for a job because my internship site may not have an opening for me.

If Cathy had had her 19-digit mileage bonus number right there in front of her, ready to go before she even began the whole vacation booking process to begin with, I think she could have saved herself a whole lot of aggravation by the time she was through but she didn’t so, here she is.

Hi, rgcviper! Welcome back! Glad to hear you had a great vacation! :-)

lightenup: How exciting! With all that woodsy area located behind our new house, I sure hope I get to see that kind of wildlife around there too! ;-)

    .

Hello and Happy Sunday, fellow Cathy fans. Hope everyone had a great week and a really nice weekend! :-)

This week’s progress report: We had 2 showings this week after 7 days in a row of nothing.

The first one was pretty bad. They didn’t have a single nice thing to say at all; they hated absolutely everything about our house. They trash-talked it so bad, I don’t even know why they bothered to come look at all. It was very upsetting. But the worse part? It was a minister and his wife doing it too ….. and right there in front of their 2-year-old son, no less! Nice lesson in kindness and compassion towards his “fellow man” they’re teaching their kid, huh?!? Just sick! :-(

But the second showing went great! A brother and sister looking to buy a house together had nothing but rave reviews about it (she absolutely loved the decor if you can believe that!). Their parents are due in from Florida sometime this week and the sibs want to bring them back for a second showing. Apparently, when the parents come to visit, they stay for an extended length of time so the “kids” want them to see the nice big secondary bedroom they’d be staying in when they do. Don’t know whether Mom and Dad are kicking in any money to help buy it or if the sibs are doing it entirely on their own and simply want their parents to see it first before they do ….. but whatever the circumstances, we’re just hoping an offer will finally soon be on its way!

Meanwhile, the people who came on a Monday 2 weeks ago, asked questions for 2 days afterwards and have been silent ever since? Apparently, they’re still interested but are just taking a long time to think about it. Looks like they may have some competition now whereas, if they had made an offer on our house even just one week ago, there wouldn’t have been any competition for it at all.

    .

Well, that’s all for now. Fingers crossed that the next time I check in, it’ll be with the good news that we’re finally under contract. Until then, have a great week everyone! :-)

You are so right, lightenup…I tried to straighten out a charge card hassle at an art fair last summer, my card was hacked the next day….I assume by somebody who overheard me reading the charge card number into the phone.
