Is there anybody that talks politics and doesn’t think they’re the one and only civil debater?

And the “talking Politics” section is also where they seat the families with the screaming, misbehaving “children”.

The Art of Civil Discourse unfortunately has been relegated to the Dustbin of Humanity along with Principles of Good Manners and Politeness. The words Please and Thank You are fast disappearing from our vocabulary.Listening and Understanding have joined the dodo bird.

Remember this cartoon tomorrow as you gather around the table for your Thanksgiving dinner. Anyone who wants to talk politics has to either eat out on the porch or sit at the card table with the kids !

    HAPPY THANKSGIVING, ALL !

There’s probably a very small section for those who wish to discuss politics in a civil manner—table for one …

If you are postulating fake facts loudly in a public space I have the right to call you on it.--Anyone else having their comments not post? or, as happened to me in the past, show up a day or two later?

There are three things you should never talk about at the dinner table: sex, politics and religion. So we don’t discuss ACC basketball down here on Tobacco Road: it’s as good as sex, as controversial as politics and people definitely believe in it.

In a civil society, it should be possible to disagree with someone in an agreeable manner. Why so many others don’t see that, I have no idea.

Mine have been too, but ever now and again, they seem to be on delay. What’s odd, is I will see them at the time of posting, then they disappear for a bit, only to reappear. That’s computers for you, they can be fickle from time to time.
