What was she thinking?!

As I recall, my kids were about that age when they learned what to do with fish. We lived on a wonderful creek and weekends they would get up early and catch breakfast.

Beyond Epic. Immortal. (For a few days that classroom is gonna have a very special aroma.)

Mad skillz, Wallace.

They live in a fishing village – NONE of the kids are going to be surprised or grossed out by a fish being cleaned.

I didn’t expect that! My Dad loved to fish, he had a boat and we would fish between Catalina Island and San Clemente. My job was to clean the Albacore. They are scavengers and attracted to anything shiny. My friends would all watch, hoping we got a ring or watch out of their stomach, but nope just nickles and dimes. BTW I was 12 or so.

One would think she would know better by now.

She should have known better than to leave him unsupervised.

And the teacher thought telling Wallace to start his presentation while she stepped out of the room was an acceptable idea?

Mr Cromwell is a very good name for a history teacher. As a UK citizen, I can say that Thomas Cromwell and Oliver Cromwell both played important roles in English history. Oliver Cromwell was leader of the Parliamentarian Army in the English Civil War. A reference to Mr Cromwell at Gettysberg can therefore be seen as a reference to both the English and American Civil Wars.

Well done! Wallace was careful enough to use a few posters (or maps) from the classroom to protect the teacher’s desk …

Shooting fish in a barrel would’ve been problematic…

The eyes are even on both sides of the head – looking somewhat surprised!

Don’t I remember another classroom presentation which wound up with Spud hanging from the ceiling in his underwear?

It’s not that hard, really. It’s basically two quick cuts.

Mrs. Macintosh should know better. That was Wallace’s presentation she walked out on to sign a card.

She knows better and is going to be kicking herself for not thinking.

Icy cold thick shakes, Sundays and Apple Pies

I mean…she really should’ve foreseen something like this happening the moment she left Wallace to present anything unsupervised.

That said, knowing how to properly fillet a fish at his age is a pretty cool skill that not many of his peers would know in this day and age, fishing town or not.

I’m sorry that I milled it…….

Speaking of old history teachers, I had a history teacher in junior high (in Maine) who was so old that when she spoke knowingly about the 18th-century British marking trees in Maine for masts for their ships, we almost seriously wondered if she might have first-hand information. Recollecting now what she looked like, I suspect she was somewhere in her late 50s or possibly early 60s.

Those fried egg flowers are on the classroom door!

And we got to see Mrs MacInstosh sign a birthday card. What a rip off. /jk

This school’s custodian must have some interesting stories to tell!

A lesson learned early. Never leave the classroom while anything interactive is happening.
