In the 2008 documentary, Boogie Man: The Lee Atwater Story, Ed Rollins stated:

[Atwater] was telling this story about how a Living Bible was what was giving him faith and I said to Mary [Matalin], “I really, sincerely hope that he found peace”. She said, “Ed, when we were cleaning up his things afterwards, the Bible was still wrapped in the cellophane and had never been taken out of the package”, which just told you everything there was. He was spinning right to the end. WIKI

Too close to the truth to be funny. But I’m still laughing.

I realize its a bit like representing yourself in a court of law, but I would be happy if the “news” went back to “just the facts, ma’am” Put punditry back on Sunday morning and afternoon, or Friday during the last half of the PBS news hour

The last panel is probably right. Yesterday at the family Easter dinner, my brother-in-law had on an oath-keeper t-shirt. I ignored him.

Lee Atwater played blues guitar reasonably competently. I know a guy who plays blues guitar very well who’s a complete MAGA loony.
