I never let milk get nearly old enough to go sour.

I don’t drink milk but I do make my bed every morning. Wow, glad to learn there are so many benefits!

The only one that made my bed was the worker in the furniture factory.

Have read of recent research showing that sleep is better in a made bed.

Since pasteurization, milk does not go sour, it gets rancid & disgusting. Sour milk is tasty, great for baking.

A simple “How so?” at the beginning of the 2nd panel would’ve been more efficient, but that would’ve meant that Panels 3-8 would all have looked like #7.

Darn. I wanted to see the two-panel leader we had in the newspaper so I could see close-up. It was too small in the newspaper to see clearly.

So there’s this guy — author, public speaker, podcaster, blogger, friend to the mega-successful, and mega-successful himself — Tim Ferriss, who is at once inspirational and a bit much. He’s written a lot of books called The 4-Hour this and that, about (I can’t be sure, because I haven’t found the hours it takes to read any of his books, which I suspect is more than 4) how focus and discipline can leave you with all sorts of free time.

It’s also possible I haven’t read his books because I have a strong suspicion they cannot possibly apply to artisans who actually create things, not just manage stuff; that he may not understand that when it comes to truly creating things, time is not a liability, time is a vital freaking INGREDIENT.

Also because I have a minor suspicion that he’s one of these, sure, absolutely hard-working individuals who got a ton of genetic and social and cosmic breaks but still thinks his success is all his own doing, like the genetic-freak 2:15 marathoner who says, “well, hell, all you have to do is train as hard as I do.” But however clueless and self-centered, these people have much to teach us, and I’m trying to learn.

He’s big on routines. Lots of them. Good ones. And since I suspect some of his advice is, or should be, the obvious Don’t Try To Do Everything All At Once, I’m picking up on what he’s laying down at my own pace, and one of those pieces of advice is to make the bed every morning. And damned if it isn’t great advice, mostly for the reasons Frazz is guessing at in today’s strip. Also because it’s so nice to get into a made bed at the end of the day. And Tim Ferriss never mentioned this, but it’s very much a factor: A made bed is very effective at keeping the copious amounts of pet hair on the outside of the linens.

Seems the kid’s family is shopping once a week, including the milk and the last gallon had to stay a little longer in the not cool enough cellar.
