On the one hand you have folks whose intent is to try to do the best thing they can for their constituents. And who enjoy it when the manage to do something useful, or even nice. On the other hand you have folks whose intent is to accumulate power and wield it to pay off the corporate “donors” who effectively own them. And whose greatest joy is “prevent”… and siphoning taxes from the middle class into the bank accounts of the obscenely wealthy (taking a cut for themselves in the process).

This piecemeal hackery is (part of) EXACTLY what they want: Make the process look so artificial and contrived that everyone will lose interest in the whole political process. Which is the only way they get to KEEP the power they now have.

In both the cases of the virus and stopgap funding, if the GOP did anything right, we wouldn’t need to keep getting boosters. But keep whining, it is the one thing you are good at.

Lock them in congress until they pass a spending bill. No real food, just bread and water. They must, by law, pass a budget. If they do not, immediately call for new elections to replace them. No current office holder may run in that election.

Personally, I’d hang the lot of them and start over, but that’s just wishful thinking.

If Republicans would let the rich get closer to being taxed fairly, these wouldn’t be needed so often.

Time for ANOTHER booster shot that won’t prevent people from catching, transmitting or dying of something that will continue to mutate. HOWEVER, not enough people are suffering problems like myocarditis, blood clots, etc so we need to boost those numbers. If they get boosted high enough then we will be forced to nationalize health care and then the sky is the limit as far as what the pharmaceutical companies can charge.
