Wonder how much money the trolls sent out on this iteration of “T**** said, blather, media quotes T**** and they claim he didn’t”. How many times does he get to go to that same identical well?

What is this, the fifteenth or sixteenth iteration of “T blather, outrageous remark, more blather” and then they deny? It’s constant!

I agree with Mr Allie. Right wing media such as Bannon, OAN, Fox, Newsmax, Daily Wire, Parler, Blaze Dailywire, National Review, American Spectator spread false info on a daily, if not hourly basis.

When you can’t rationalize what’s been reported, you go after the reporter. And in all the best con jobs the victim is told not to believe what they see and here.

During the nullification crisis of 1832-3, Vice-President John Calhoun supported the supposed right of South Carolina to ignore, and thus “nullify” federal tariff laws. President Jackson was determined that the federal tariff law be enforced. The President is said to have commented that he considered his Vice-President’s opinion in the matter to be treasonous, and that he would be willing to hang Vice-President Calhoun for treason if that became necessary to drive that point home.

Arguably, the presumptive Republican nominee made his recent “bloodbath” comment with regard to the U. S. auto industry, though his typical disjointed foray into non-sequitur land left his meaning somewhat ambiguous.

One of my college history professors, Conrad Engelder, may he rest in peace, once made a comment that I think applies here, in defense of the media. Discussing nullification crisis, above, Prof. Engelder noted that anytime Andrew Jackson talked about hanging someone, that person better listen up, referencing the Arbuthnot and Ambrister incident which occurred in 1818 during the First Seminole War.

American General Andrew Jackson invaded Spanish Florida and without authority from President Monroe, captured and executed, by hanging, Alexander George Arbuthnot and Robert C. Ambrister, two British citizens charged with aiding Seminole and Creek Indians against the United States.

In light of January 6th, his expressed desire to shoot protesters, and his wink and nod to the Proud Boys, et al., when the presumptive Republican nominee uses the term “bloodbath”, we better “listen up”.

Only a fool would get their news from one source. Pity the Fox viewer who never goes beyond that rightwing echo chamber. I use multiple news sources, print, broadcast, and international, to arrive at my conclusions. The paranoid among us would say that all these sources are members of a cabal, and working together. If they honestly believe that, there is no point in debating them. To those who still practice critical thinking, I remind them that news organizations are in competition with one another. If more than one source offers up the same conclusions, there is more veracity.

Finally, Trump was using “bloodbath” to threaten political violence. No number of apologists posting here or those drawing mediocre political cartoons will change that.

The “Trust and credibility” of the media is in the presentation live and recorded for all to see and determine for themselves. The absence of any credibility, and not worthy of any trust lies with those who tell everyone there are “alternative facts”, and “very fine people on both sides”. and the Orwellian “Just remember: What you’re seeing and what you’re reading is not what’s happening.”

So that’s what he meant by bloodbath………..pink slips! Project 2025 would see 20,000 govt employees fired overnight to be replaced with a Heritage Foundation pre-approved right-wing stooges. Then they’ll do the same with Corporate Media.

Is the apparent lack trust and credibility of the media because of their reporting, or is it because of a decades-long campaign by certain types of groups to undermine the trust and credibility of legitimate media to cover their own propaganda attempts and convey a certain false equivalence when their really is none?

Your premise is flawed. You’re assuming they had ANY trust and credibility to begin with!

Yes the media ignores Trumps demetia and and calls Bidens stutter mental. Hey, wasn’t it Trump who said there would be a blood bath? Good pretzel logic here.
