They collectively demand abortion to be made illegal, a return to ‘states rights’ and voter and vote suppression, and that billionaire oligarchs and patriotic multinational corporations be relieved of the burden of paying taxes.

Their Messiah’s worship of Putin is just another symptom.

It starts with voting rights that are understood and well used by the informed.

Q1: Why don’t Democrats ever pass a federal law to protect abortion rights? Q2: What issue do the Democrats always bring up during election cycles as a way to charge up their base?

A1: Democrats don’t control the house and couldn’t get 60 votes in the senate even if they did. A2: The Republicans are freaking insane.

The issues that people most care about, in order are Economy, Immigration, Inflation, Crime abortion. The first four, Republicans lead Democrats by double digits. The last, Democrats lead. If that’s your best issue, may as well keep pressing it. It won’t win you the election, but hey you’re all over it.

Well, women. The GOP just affirmed a law written in the 1800s, before you even had a vote, that exercises control over your body. Abortion and the right to choose when to have a child is on the ballot. And, if Republicans get the White House and Senate back and keep the House, they will enact a Nation Wide Abortion Ban.

But there is always the possibility they jump to the chase and take away a woman’s right to vote. I mean, think about it. They already are activating laws that were passed before you could vote. I’m just sayin…

Seems Bennet and a lot of posters here don’t grasp the concept that abortion is legal. SCOTUS just opined that it is not for SCOTUS to make law (which is what Roe v Wade did) and put it in the hands of the elected officials. Since Congress refuses to act, it is now in the hands of the States.

The cartoon indicates that as the MAGA GOP is trying to tear down Justice, they are not paying attention to the fact that Justice is going to come crashing down on them. Only one person out of the five is sensing the ensuing disaster. That percentage of those of that ilk who know they have over reached is probably about right, maybe a little high.

It’s just the natural progression. First, men lost the right to lord it over their wives because the wives deserved equality. Next the Whites lost the right to lord it over the Blacks because the Blacks deserved equality. I am Catholic and Catholics and others who condemn abortion will do what they want to do. It’s on them. That is their choice. Churches bend over backwards to help un-wed mothers. We also forgive those who find themselves pregnant and help in every way to convince them not to seek abortion and save the life of the baby.

But we, as a society are at an impasse. Neither side is going to get their way. Absolutely no abortion or abortion up to moment of birth? Really? Can’t there be a compromise on 6, 9, 12, or even 15 months? Should we force our beliefs on others who don’t agree? No, not in this country. We are not China or N. Korea. Let us settle this and then let the government step aside. No more government supporting Planned Parenthood or encouraging abortions with government funding. Done, finished. It is now YOUR responsibility to make necessary abortions available but rare.
