It’s CYA (Cover Your Ass) on their part. They don’t want to be considered complicit with the nefarious dealings of the Drumpf organization. They saw and learned from what happened with Enron’s accountants. Pulling out now is a smart thing to do, while their reputation can be salvaged. It’s also a given that they can see that payment for services will not be forthcoming after all the double dealing.

Mazars, the accounting firm for Trump Enterprises from 2011 through 2021, has pretty much stated that none of their books are accurate so none of the information can be trusted. This opens up TE for enormous issues as loans, taxes, etc. were based on the accounting. No reputable accounting company will want to step into the morass to “fix” the issues. Also, just learned about the Martin Act in New York State: https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2021/5/19/2031117/-The-New-York-State-Attorney-General-And-The-Martin-Act-Translation-Criminal-Liability-For-Trump. No intent needs to be proven, just the simple fact that transgression occurred.

A reporter who got a tax return belonging to Donald Trump predicted racketeering charges against the former president, his three oldest children and the Trump Organization and its chief financial officer, Allen Weisselberg.

Trump’s longtime accounting firm, Mazars USA, has cut ties with him and the Trump Organization over what it said were unreliable annual statements.

David Cay Johnston, who obtained and reported in 2017 Trump’s 2005 tax return, told CNN’s New Day on Tuesday that Mazars is helping Manhattan prosecutors compile “a New York State racketeering case against Trump, the Trump Organization, Allen Weisselberg and probably Donald’s three oldest children.”

“Donald Trump will be indicted on a State Racketeering charge. I am confident of that.” -David Cay Johnston

Jimmy Kimmel brutally mocked Donald Trump and his family after their longtime accounting firm Mazars USA dropped The Trump Organization as a client on Monday.

“In other words, ‘We are not going to prison with you, Mr. Trump,” Kimmel cracked on Tuesday night.

“I tell you, there’s nothing more depressing than getting dumped by your accountant during tax season,” he quipped. “It’s like getting divorced on Christmas Eve.”

Kimmel later took aim at Trump’s “terrible kids” for “making the rounds, desperately trying to protect the golden goose.”

“Eric took time out of his busy schedule to promote this made-up Hillary Clinton spying case they’re now pumping into the Fox News viewers’ soft, oatmeal-like brains,” Kimmel said.

He then played a clip of Eric Trump on Hannity, in which he questioned why prosecutors were not targeting Hillary Clinton.

“If you want to know where the prosecutors are, the answer is gathering evidence against your grifter father,” Kimmel responded.

A judge just handed Trump a major loss in the DC attorney general’s lawsuit over inauguration funds as the case heads to trial

A judge reinstated the Trump Organization as a defendant in a lawsuit over the potential misuse of inauguration funds.

The DC Attorney General alleges the organization wrongly took nonprofit funds from Trump’s 2017 inauguration.

A judge ruled the AG brought enough evidence to keep the company as a defendant.

His kids bragged they got all the money they needed from Russians. They don’t need no stinking loans from banks! And the Donald bragged he was the king of managing debt. However smart he is at conning others out of their money, there are only two certainties in life. Death, and Taxes. He cannot con the grim reaper.

It seems that all these trump supporters who apparently never heard of him during the 40 years he was grifting and settling constantly out of court, seem to think there has never been any evidence of just how rotten to the core trump, his children and his whole organization are. Just how surprised are they going to be when this goes to trial?

I wouldn’t let the accountants completely off the hook. They need to sing like a canary, or start looking into what they have done that’s illegal. Maybe look anyway, than the slow moving DOJ will have some leverage on them. I need a lot of popcorn to watch the DOJ take too long.

Uh oh for a good ten years. An account firm that is not so good at accounting when being held to account for the lack of truth backing the numbers they were paid to determine. When the Feds come asking questions they decide it is time to take their pencils and calculators and go home. Go figure. Bet this same thing happens at other way more successful companies.
