Once again: The point of banning abortions is NOT to reduce their number. Contraceptives, sex education, access to health care and other efforts, would accomplish that.
That is NOT the objective.
The objective is to PUNISH SINNERS, women sinners, and especially poor women sinners. (of course, being poor shows that they are not in God’s graces and are therefore sinners anyway)
.
And does ANYONE believe that once abortions are made illegal, that they will not be available to Republican legislators?
Arguably the biggest change in history was when women started working outside the home as a result of the Industrial Revolution. (And still had to work inside it!!!) Wide spread independence and education followed. Some have been pushing back on that agency ever since, having failed to recognize how much better off we all are because of it.
I’ve long believed that many GOP politicians would be perfectly OK with Black and Brown women having abortion on demand. It’s those white babies they’re concerned about.
We are all sinners. We are here to witness, not to judge. It is necessary to have compassion for each other. No one can repent for someone else or control them. Removing the right to choose is not “saving babies”. Romanians created a huge crisis in their country when they banned all abortions. There were hundreds of orphanages overflowing with unwanted and unloved children. You can find the horrific stories about what the unintended consequences were online. Sorry, nanny bot won’t allow links. :-(
It’s a terrible thing to let each state decide for themselves what to do with such a controversial subject like this. s/Hey libs, most states don’t want the same laws and restrictions that New York, Illinois and California have. Thats because their residents are crazy!

Seems to me that they’re aiming at both.

What the elephant really wants: “We want women to be stay-at-home breeders, especially white women with white husbands.”

I believe “controlled and punished” is the goal of many in the Q crowd.

No choice at all with those two options. If, you want another choice, best you vote blue all the way.

Controlled or punished is just varying degrees of the same misogynistic mis / maltreatment.

I don’t understand such punishment of women, whether by conservative Christians or by the Taliban.

Kristi Noem: It’s a ‘tragedy’ not to force rape victims to give birth
South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem®, a possible vice presidential candidate, called rape and incest exceptions for abortion a “tragedy.”
Arrogant anti science unenlightened Republicans who totally lack empathy treat women like cattle.
Why do republicans support rapists?

The United States has always been a champion in the struggles against tyranny and oppression.
We won the Revolutionary War against an unjust, above-the-law monarchy.
We won the Civil War against racist slavery.
We won WW2 against the hateful Nazis.
We won the Cold War against Communist Russia.
And from 2017 to 2021 we had an administration that tried as hard as it could to unilaterally surrender in all of them.

Pregnant? Want an abortion?
Google: womenonwavesDOTorg — replace the DOT with, well, a period.
(I know you haven’t had one, but I mean the one on your keyboard;-)
Otherwise, go to Amazon – they offer a “wire coat hanger” 10-Pack for only $9.99 – overnight delivery if you have Prime. /S

If you want to interpret The Constitution literally, I guess you should interpret the Bible literally, correct? Including the Ten Commandments?
